Hey! Welcome to Laptop and Lavender.
My name is Stephanie. I’m happily married to my husband going on 11 years. Although most people mistake me for being an extrovert because I love to help people, I am an introvert. I currently work from home because I need the flexibility to take care of my mom.
No I’m not the first work from home blog, but I am one of the first ones to really focus on helping you find a wfh job AND bridging the lines between working from home & self-care.
You currently are working from home or are looking to because you need more flexibility, you need more of a work life balance. But what tends to happen is, I know from personal experience, the fine line between work and home blurs.
Yes, there are some luxuries of working at home. You have more time, you can wear your pajamas, you don’t have to worry about putting on makeup or doing your hair, or not having to add more miles onto your car. But there are many downsides, like not having social interaction, feeling isolated, family demands, or feeling lonely. I can relate to all of those.
From my experience of being self-employed for many years, I understand the struggle of finding time for yourself. We tend to put extra responsibility on ourselves because we are working from home so we may feel like we are the only ones who need to take care of the household chores or demands. Or when we do get some down time that we have to be available for others. But it’s just like any other job so there needs to be a balance.
Now, not every day or every week will be perfect, but the self-care habits I will share are ones you can do before work, during your lunch break, after work, or on your day(s) off. And the more you do them, they will become part of your daily habits and become an essential part of your routine. I hope I am able to help you to be able to balance work & life in a way that will work for you.
Thanks for stopping by!
